Airtel 5G Expansion: 2900+ New 5G Sites Deployed in North India!

Hey guys,

If you’re using Airtel and live up north, you might want to run a quick speed test on your phone.

Airtel just announced a massive network upgrade, dropping over 2,900 new 5G sites across the Upper North region. They’ve basically been setting up around eight new towers every single day for the past year to fix patchy signals and slow data.

The whole upgrade covers 77 districts (about 28 million users), specifically hitting these states:

  • Punjab: 1,066+ new sites

  • Haryana: 954+ new sites

  • Jammu & Kashmir: 619+ new sites

  • Himachal Pradesh: 276+ new sites

Why this actually matters

We all know how annoying it is when 5G drops to 4G the second you walk indoors or head out of a major city. Airtel says this push covers over 7,700 kilometers of terrain, aiming to bridge the gap in semi-urban areas and rural villages—not just the big cities like Chandigarh or Ludhiana.

Ideally, this means fewer random call drops, better indoor reception, and smoother streaming/gaming without the constant buffering.

Over to you guys: Have you noticed your signal bars going up lately? If you're living in Punjab, Haryana, HP, or J&K, drop your city or village below and let us know if your Airtel 5G is actually getting any better!
