Top MBA Colleges in India Other Than IIMs – Cut-offs and Admission Insights
Quote from Dhrishiv Sharma on February 6, 2026, 1:24 pmHi Everyone,
Most MBA aspirants in India primarily focus on the IIMs as their dream colleges. However, there are several excellent management institutes apart from the IIMs that offer top-quality education, great placements, and strong industry exposure.
I am starting this thread to discuss:
• Which are the best MBA colleges in India other than IIMs?
• What are their typical entrance exam cut-offs (CAT/XAT/GMAT, etc.)?
• How do they compare in terms of placements, faculty, and campus life?
• Which colleges should aspirants target based on different percentile ranges? Some well-known names that usually come up are FMS Delhi, XLRI Jamshedpur, SPJIMR Mumbai, MDI Gurgaon, JBIMS Mumbai, NMIMS, and others.
It would be great if members of this community can share:
– Their personal experiences
– Admission cut-off trends
– Placement insights
– Suggestions for aspirants with different profilesLooking forward to valuable inputs and recommendations from everyone!

Quote from Pratyush on February 9, 2026, 11:36 pmIf you’re exploring good MBA colleges in India apart from the IIMs, I’d definitely say Christ University, Bangalore is worth checking out.
Christ has built a solid name over the years, especially for management studies. The MBA program there is quite practical and industry-oriented. It’s not just about theory – they focus a lot on presentations, projects, internships, and overall personality development, which really helps in the long run.
One good thing about Christ is that they don’t depend only on CAT scores. They accept multiple exams like CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, and ATMA. So even if your CAT score isn’t very high, you still have a fair chance through other exams. Generally, cut-offs are moderate – around 60–70 percentile in CAT/XAT and higher for exams like MAT/CMAT.
The admission process is also quite balanced. It includes GD, micro presentations, written tests, and interviews. So they look at your overall profile, not just one exam score.
Location is another big advantage. Being in Bangalore, you get great exposure to startups, MNCs, internships, and networking opportunities. Placements are also pretty decent with many well-known companies visiting the campus every year.
Overall, if you want a good MBA college with a disciplined environment, decent placements, and good learning opportunities – Christ University is a strong option outside the IIM league.
