Why Automation Testing and best tools for Automation Software Testing ?

Hello Friends !! Automation testing is the process of converting manual test cases into Automation script by using some automation tool and scripting language.

Why Automation testing:-

Automated software testing is important due to the following reasons:
  • Manual Testing of all workflows, all fields, all negative scenarios is time and money consuming
  • It is difficult to test for multilingual sites manually
  • Automation does not require Human intervention. You can run automated test unattended (overnight)
  • Automation increases the speed of test execution
  • Automation helps increase Test Coverage
  • Manual Testing can become boring and hence error-prone

Automation Software Testing
Automation tools:-

We have various types of automation testing tools available in the market. Some of the most commonly used automation testing tools are as follows:

Ranorex Studio
Selenium
QTP (MicroFocus UFT)
Rational Functional Tester
WATIR
Telerik Test Studio
IBM Rational Functional Tester
Cucumber
Katalon Studio
Selenium is one of best and most commonly used tool for Automation testing. Here we will see advantages and disadvantages of Selenium.
Selenium:-
Selenium is an open-source and most commonly used tool in automation testing. This tool is used to test web-based applications with the help of test scripts, and these scripts can be written in any programming language such as java, python, C#, Php, and so on.
Features of
Selenium:-
Selenium tool is most popular because of its various features.
  • Selenium supports only web-based applications, which means that the application can be opened by the browser or the URL like Gmail, Amazon, etc.
  • Selenium does not support a stand-alone application, which means that the application is not opened in the browser or URL like Notepad, MS-Word, Calculator, etc.
  • Selenium web driver is the latest tool in the selenium community that removes all the drawbacks of the previous tool (selenium-IDE).
  • Selenium web-driver is powerful because it supports multiple programming languages, various browsers like- Chrome, Firefox, Internet explorer, Edge, safari, opera, and different operating systems and also supports mobile applications like iPhone, Android.
Disadvantage of Selenium webDriver:-
  • We cannot automate captcha.
  • We can not automate gaming applications.
  • We can partially automate audio and video test cases.
  • We can not automate print related test cases.
  • Using selenium web driver we can not automate desktop and mobile applications.

CAREER IN AUTOMATION ENGINEERING

Tags: Automation engineering|Career in automation engineering  | Scada |PLC|DCS|HMI drive

automation engineering career
Automation engg. gaining ground in all controlling applications.

To improve the accuracy and to increase production...now a days all the industries almost installed the automation control system.

IF we talk about career in automation control system.....it has very good scope.student from engineering with electronics and electrical stream can easily understand the concepts of automation system.

Demand for a automation engineer is also increasing day by day

Here i will give you a brief idea of automation and different modules of automation

Automation is need of today. Main part of this section is PLC. A PLC (programmable logic controller) is a device that was invented to replace the necessary sequential relay circuits for machine control. The PLC works by looking at its input and depending upon their state, turning on /off outputs. The user enters the program, usually via software, that gives the desired result.

PLCs are used in many “real world” applications. If there is industry present chances are good that there is PLC present. As we can see the bigger the process the more of a need we have for a PLC. We can simply program the PLC to count the inputs and turn the output on for the specified time.

Important topics of Automation control system are:

SCADA (Sequential control and data acquisition )

PLC( Programmable logic controller )

HMI( Human machine interface )

DCS ( Distributed control system )

SCADA:It is always easy to understand the status of the process if it is shown with some animations rather than written codes. Hence SCADA software came to existence with some exclusive features. Now it becomes internal part of automation system.
PLC: programmable logic controller is most important part, which is used to control the applications and process. we can download program in PLC using PLC software and control our process according to our need. most popular PLC'S are"
ALLEN BRADLEY PLC
SIEMENS
MITSUBISHI
MODICON....and many more
programming software is different for all plc's but the logic is same. many programming languages are there for PLC'S but ladder programming is simple and mostly used
HMI:Human machine interface is installed  near field instruments. it is a easy way to check the ongoing processing of our system. it is directly connected to hardware.
but now a days scada is most preferably used.
DCS: Distributed control system is very advance system, it is just like PLC but with more advance feature and services.

so guys if you having interest in control system... then you should go for automation engg. course. many institutes providing 3 months certified course in automation engg.
best of luck.......

How To Make Training Program More Effective For Sales Consultants

Every company invests lakhs of rupees every month on training of sales consultants. Sales consultant also accepts that training are very effective for boom in their knowledge and further in their career growth, but there is need of strict implementation and introducing some new tools and techniques to make it more effective and efficient. There are some suggestions to make the training program more effective.

Training effectiveness
Refresh Training
There should be a provision of refresh training in the company. It is very important to keep the content fresh in the sales consultant mind. From study and discussions with sales consultants, It is found that though the customer handling skill increases as work experience increases, but some basic knowledge like technical knowledge, brand updates and brand history, industry knowledge starts slipping from mind, so its becomes very important to keep the training continue and with some new information and skills, old important content should be added in training sessions.

Add Personality and Grooming skill module :
Now a day every company is working on service facility. They are focusing more on managing customer experience. Company does not sell only a product but also sells an amazing experience to the customer, so a customer will share his experience with others and also will refer others for the same product. One of the main parts which give the ultimate experience to customer is a well groomed sales consultant. Personality of sales consultant and his attitude always attracts customer.so companies should add one module related to personality development and grooming skill. Soft skill training should also happen for each consultant to make them learn basic courtesy, grooming and hospitality knowledge. Further HR manager or sales manager should ensure that sales consultants are well groomed and imbibing hospitality skill and attitude.

Analyze training needs of sales consultant by tracking sales consultant progress report:
If sales consultant is not performing or not able to meet the targets, company should try to analyze, where the sales consultant is lagging.Team leader or sales manager can track the performance of the sales consultant, and can provide training or can request training from company for sales consultant, whenever required.

Biweekly Evaluation Test of Sales consultants:
There should be a provision of taking test in every 15 days. So a sales consultant can be evaluated. Questions can be related to product, product updates and competition.  Best part will be if answers are told just after the test, so a sales consultant can memorize the content, and it will keep the data fresh in the mind of sales consultant. This is a great way to force sales consultant to keep in touch with content of training and motivate him to learn more about competition

Training Venue and Location:
Training venue has a psychological impact on sales consultants. Venue like good hotels or proper training centers, with good facilities like discussion room for lectures and good food makes the consultant to think that company is investing good amount of money on their training, it motivates them and built an attitude to learn.

More focus on product knowledge of competitors and own:
A continuous training program should be conducted and own product knowledge and competitor’s product and product updates should dominate in training content. In today’s era it is very important that every sales consultant should be aware of competitors’ product and he should be able to compare his product with others, and should be able to tell the features and benefit of his product over other.

Actuary As a Career

Choose Actuary as a Career

Actuary is a business professional who deals with the financial impact of risk and uncertainty. I first came across this word in the 1st year of my undergraduate course. One my faculty said the profession was very sought after and the repute associated was great. However the fact that the number of exams to be passed were 15 dampened the enthusiasm. Giving 15 exams along with usual college studies seemed too much pressure for me.
Actuary as a profession

This profession again came into my thought during my MBA course at Christ University. During one of our corporate interface Mr. L. K. Lakshminarayan, the Chief Endowment Officer, Azim Premji Foundation talked about the job profile of an actuary. Only a person with a strong base and a nerve of steel can endure the high pressure that the job demanded. The fact that there is a low success rate and the high number of tests shows that only the creme de la creme get through.

In definite terms we can say that an actuary provides an expert assessment of financial security systems. They evaluate the likelihood of events and quantify the contingent outcomes in order to minimize losses both emotional and financial. This may sound a bit like a fortune teller but instead of a crystal ball the actuary uses mathematical models and base knowledge of statistics, economics and finance. This helps in the decision making process and makes the process standard and with little chance of error.

The various scope of work for an actuary may be as follows
1.Health and Care Insurance
4.Pensions & Other Employee Benefits

7.Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)

2.Life Insurance

5.Finance

8.Academics

3.General Insurance (non-life or P&C)

6.Investment

9.Regulatory

For instance take car insurance, an actuary has the job to take all aspects of the car into consideration while deciding the price for the insurance from the current life of car, type of engine to type of usage to which it may be subject to. After taking all these factors into account the actuary needs to find out fit the appropriate insurance price for the vehicle.

Similarly in the scope of finance an actuary’s knowledge is of great importance for finding out the valuation of a company which is going to be taken over or be merged.
But to become an actuary one needs to go become a certified member of one of the recognized actuarial bodies :-
  •          Institute Of Actuaries Of India (IAI)
  •          Institute and Faculty of Actuaries(IOA), UK
  •          Institute of Actuaries of Australia
  •          Society of Actuaries, US
  •          Casualty Actuarial Society, US

Some of these actuarial bodies have mutual understanding. For example an actuary recognised by the IAI is also recognised by the IOA and vice-versa.
The Indian arm IAI also recognises certain international courses. For instance a student of Indian Statistical Institute has 2 out of 15 papers waivered. Similarly a student who has passed Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Management (FRM) course also gets some papers exemption.

All the papers are subjective in nature and need lot of work from the evaluator’s point of view. To ease the pressure off the number of evaluators and make the pool of people giving actuary a refined lot an entrance exam was introduced from June 2012. Now one needs to pass this entrance exam to be able to give any of the subjective papers. This entrance exam Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET) is a computer based test containing 100 questions from different topics of Mathematics and Statistics.

So if one thinks that one has the uncanny talent for quick calculations and an inherent knowledge of statistical terms one can try or prove his or her mettle in this field of actuarial profession. However if one is not convinced of whether the hard work required is worth anything – one can look at this as a silver lining, ₹1.25 million. This is the approximate starting salary of an actuary!
According to Thomas Edison Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. So if you think you have what it takes to become an actuary start working hard.

Author Bio: Gaurav Trivedi, student of MBA-Finance at Christ university institute of management, Bangalore has cleared actuarial entrance test and aspiring to have actuary as a profession.

MBA or PGDM - Which Is Best Option?

Confuse between MBA (Master of Business Administration) and PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management)

If you are planning to go for Management course, you would have seen some colleges provide you MBA degree and some gives PGDM. So you might be in dilemma, what to choose?

So here we will try to understand basic difference between MBA and PGDM. Colleges which are affiliated to some state or center university, give you MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree and colleges which are deemed or run privately (autonomous), give you PGDM (Approved by AICTE) degree.

Broadly there is no much difference between MBA and PGDM. both leads you to the position of Manager, education standard and job profile remain same and both are considered equal.

Difference comes in way of teaching and what you are taught. PGDM curriculum is more industrial oriented and focuses on your personality development and leadership ability, while MBA is more academic oriented, focuses on theory part more and state or center university design and review the curriculum. Institute with PGDM degree, have freedom to design and update their curriculum and functioning any time, it is beneficial for students as institution can change curriculum as per industry trend or requirement every year. They have freedom to conduct exams in their own way. It becomes very important in ever changing and growing business scenario, that you keep on updating your students with on going business norms and strategies. Though universities providing MBA, they also change their curriculum but normally they do it in 2 to 3 years, they review it and then apply the applicable changes.

But If you are interested in further study like Phd, then you must go for MBA degree, as it focuses more on theoretical aspect and examination oriented.

Top colleges of India like IIM's (Indian Institute of Management) offers PGDM and JBIMS (JamnaLal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies), is affiliated with Mumbai university and offers MBA degree. Both institutions are best in terms of education and Placement activities.

So overall thing is to choose reputed or prestigious college whether you pursue MBA or PGDM, because if you go for unrecognized or non-reputed college, in that case MBA or PGDM both are useless.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MICROPROCESSOR AND MICROCONTROLLER

Microprocessor and Microcontroller are programmable devices that accepts digital data as input, process it according to instructions and provides results as output.
Both of these products can be used for automatically controlled product and services. But there is difference between microcontroller and microprocessor, we discuss here
microprocessor microcontroller

Microprocessor is normally called a Center processing unit (CPU) , It is a general purpose microprocessor such as Intel's x86 family. Microprocessor does not contain RAM, ROM and no I/O ports on the chip itself. To make Microprocessor functional , A designer must add RAM, ROM , I/O ports, and timers externally. Addition of RAM, ROM ,I/O ports and timers makes this system bulkier and more expensive. But the good thing is that designer can decide amount of RAM, ROM and ports needed to fit the task.

On the other hand Microcontroller already have CPU (Microprocessor) in addition to a fixed amount of RAM, ROM, I/O ports and timers on a single chip, which makes it ideal for many applications where space and costs are critical.

A microprocessor can not be programmed for real time task whereas microcontrollers can be programmed for real time task such as in device monitoring room temperature requires real time monitoring.

We can say microprocessor is just a processor (Or brain of computer) whereas A microcontroller may be referred as complete computer system.

WHAT IS HSDPA AND HSUPA ??

Tags: HSDPA|HSUPA|Specifications of HSDPA|What is HSDPA and HSUPA

These two technical terms are related to Telecom world. you might be aware with these terms and want to know more about it.

HSDPA stands for High speed downlink Packet access and HSUPA stands for High speed Uplink packet access

HSDPA and HSUPA is part of HSPA(High speed packet access) technology, which is further upgradation to WCDMA network.WCDMA is referred as 3G(3rd generation ) Networks and HSPA is referred as 3.5G. so HSPA allows high data transmission for internet connectivity.

hsdpa and hsupaHSDPA is a improved technology which increase your download and helps you in fast browsing and watching online videos.

HSUPA is improved technology which increase your upload and helps you to share your videos and picture easily.

Here is brief discussion:

HSDPA(High speed downlink packet access):

The first step required to upgrade WCDMA to HSPA is to improve downlink by introducing HSDPA.In most of the countries HSDPA provides improved downlink speed of 14.4 Mbit/s. But now with more upgraded technology data transmission speed reached up to 21.6 mbit/s, even more 28.8 Mbit/s in some nation.
HSDPA is based on a shared channel transmission and its key feature are shared channel and multi code transmission , higher modulation, short transmission time interval  and fast link adaption.

HSUPA(High speed uplink packet access)

The second major step to upgrade WCDAM to HSPA is to increase uplink by introducing HSUPA. It is the common practice by most of the mobile networks to deploy HSDPA first before doing HSUPA. Because we generally need high download speed, to experience fast browsing and online videos.
In most of the countries HSUPA provide improved uplink speed up to 5.8 Mbit/s.
Enhanced uplinks adds a new transport channel to WCDMA, called the enhanced dedicated channel(E-DCH).Upgrading to HSUPA is usually only a software update.
